2023.12.22. Celebrating Success: Freshman Jeong Eui-Sung Secures 2nd Place at 16th Korea University International Medical Student Research Conference
Over the course of 8 months, Jeong Eui-Sung has deligently worked under the guidance of Professor Hwang Jong-Ik and the support of mentors Lan Phuong Nguyen and Cho Min-Young, focused on optmizing the perfomance of NanoBiT-based Cytosolic Ca2+ sensor by stablizing expressed the sensor in HEK293 cells. With this achievement, the assay shows promise for high-throughput application such as drug development. This endeavor aligns with our lab's commitment to providing undergraduate students, like Jeong Eui-Sung, opportunities to learn and expand their knowledge in biomedical research, exposing them to cutting-edge technologies in the field.
Jeong Eui-Sung, reflecting on his experience, shared, 'Studying in the GPCR lab for a year was a fantastic experience. Members of the lab were very friendly and engaged in their studies, actively tackling challenging tasks. Throughout my time in the GPCR lab, I had the privilege of conducting various experiments utilizing cutting-edge facilities and advanced instrumentation, providing me with invaluable hands-on experience working with bacteria and cells—an experience I will never forget."
